May-Day Festival – Sunday 30 April 2017

A May-Day Music Festival will be held at Fife Airport on Sunday 30 April 2017.

The airport will be closed to ALL AIRCRAFT & HELICOPTERS from 1500 on Saturday 29 April until 1200 approx. on Monday 1st may 2017.

The Tipsy Nipper Restaurant will be closed all day on Sunday 30 April 2017 only.

Fife Airport is delighted to be holding this music festival in association with the organiser, Jason Frew and his team at Phase 4 and Fife Council.

Further details will be posted as information is received but so far there will be a live outside stage as well as an array of food vendors, entertainment stalls and a massive fun fair.

Early bird tickets are on sale now online from www.maydayfestival.co.uk priced £25. Tickets will soon go up to the full price of £32.

Opening Times May 2016 – Updated

The Tipsy Nipper Restaurant will close at 5pm on Monday and Tuesday during May.  All other times are as posted elsewhere on this web site.

Runway Sweeping – Friday 29 April 2016

All pilots please note that the runway and other parts the manoeuvring area are planned to be swept on Friday 29 April commencing at 0800. Until the work is complete the airfield will be closed to all traffic. It is hoped that the work will be complete by 1000 but this can not be guaranteed. The airfield will be STRICTLY PPR to ensure safety. If you require any information regarding when the airfield will be available please telephone either 01592 753792 or 01592 610436.

Easter Weekend Fly-in Saturday 26 & Sunday 27 March 2016

Fife Airport, in partnership with Fife Flying Club, welcomes pilots from across the UK to celebrate the Easter Weekend at Fife Airport as we continue our annual tradition of raising funds for Rachel House in Kinross, run by the Children’s Hospice Association Scotland (CHAS).

During the Easter weekend, on both Saturday 26th and Sunday 27th March 2016 visiting pilots. This year we are asking that you make a donation in lieu of a landing fee to Rachel House. The usual landing fee is £15 but feel free make whatever donation you wish. We will have gift-aid forms available so Rachel House will get the benefit of the tax.

CHAS is Scotland’s only charity to provide vital hospice services for children and young people with life-shortening conditions where survival into full adulthood is not expected. It takes over £9 million annually to run the charity’s vital work. Rachel House is a place for families to relax and have fun with their children, with expert care on hand to help them make the most of each day and live life to the full.

Fife Flying Club and Fife Airport are both delighted to support the CHAS charity and we all look forward to welcoming visiting pilots across the weekend! Please ensure that you PPR on 19592 753792. The Tipsy Nipper Restaurant will be open as usual.

The weather information to pilots is now operational on this web site. Please always check date and time of the information. The Dundee TAF has had to be removed as it would not automatically update.

IMPORTANT – Maintenance Closures 30 March – 1st April

The runway at Fife Airport will be closed from Monday, 30th March until Wednesday, 1st April to allow for a range of maintenance works to be carried out. A notice to pilots that on reopening, the runway will be changed to Runway 06/24.

During this time, The Tipsy Nipper Restaurant will also be closed to allow improvements to be made to the car park.

Both the airfield and restaurant will be reopening for business on Thursday, 2nd April.

We apologise for any inconvenience this causes and look forward to welcoming you back when we reopen.

Drive-in Movie Saturday 28 February

Dynamic Events will be holding a Drive In movie in aid of Team Leo at the airport on Saturday 28 February 2015 from 1700 – 2330. There will be two movies. The first is FROZEN (Sing Along Edition) Family movie PG  and the second will be NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET. Horror – Adult Only. Easter Egg Charity Fly-in

Fife Airport, in partnership with Fife Flying Club, welcomes pilots from across the UK to celebrate the Easter Weekend at Fife Airport as we continue our annual tradition of raising funds, toys and easter eggs for Rachel House in Kinross, run by the Children’s Hospice Association Scotland (CHAS).

During the Easter weekend, on both Saturday 30th and Sunday 31st, visiting pilots will have FREE landings if they donate an easter egg, soft toy or money to the CHAS charity!

CHAS is Scotland’s only charity to provide vital hospice services for children and young people with life-shortening conditions      where survival into full adulthood is not expected. Daily costs of over £22,000 exist to run the charity’s vital work. Rachel House is a place for families to relax and have fun with their children, with expert care on hand to help them make the most of each day and live life to the full.

Fife Flying Club and Fife Airport are both delighted to support the CHAS charity and we all look forward to welcoming visiting pilots across the weekend! When you arrive, just hand over your gift to the staff in the Tipsy Nipper Restaurant and there’s no landing fee to think of!

Club’s Annual General Meeting

The Annual General Meeting for Fife Flying Club is to take place on Thursday, 15th November to which all club members are invited.

Hosted in the Tipsy Nipper Restaurant, proceedings will commence at 7.30pm with formal business matters followed by an update on the airfield’s developments by the managing director of Tayside Aviation, Jim Watt. All club members should have received their ballot forms for the annual committee election, though spare copies may be obtained from the Tipsy Nipper.

Fife Flying Club’s Annual Bonfire Night

Sunday, 2nd November sees Fife Flying Club host their annual Bonfire Night on the airfield.

The bonfire will be lit from 6.00pm and an impressive fireworks display will commence at 6.30pm. Soup and stovies are on the menu and everybody is welcome! Club members, family, friends, local residents – come and join us. As always, there will be the opportunity to donate to local charities.
